Candidates Statement for – Ordinary Committee Member – RMIT Branch

Amrohit (Amro) Amputch
I seek your support to be elected to the RMIT NTEU Branch Committee.
I have worked at RMIT University as finance manager in the School of Applied Sciences since 2001.
I believe that I will bring to the committee valuable knowledge and experiences, where I have held a number of Finance and Management positions external to RMIT, which includes, Melbourne University and a number of large corporations. In addition, I currently serve as a member of the RMIT University General Staff Classification Committee, which engages in position classification.
The NTEU has recently completed a successful Union Collective Agreement (UCA), which has ensured every opportunity in representing the interests of staff at RMIT University. If elected to the committee I will work to ensure that RMIT complies with the UCA in the best interest of RMIT staff and support a Governance and Policy framework which ensures fairness and equity in the workplace.
I would work to ensure that there is positive engagement with the community of RMIT and that there is good consultation and inclusiveness in a professional and ethical framework.
If elected to the RMIT Branch Committee I would work to ensure that staffs are well informed about the emerging challenges and issues that affect them and to ensure that fairness and equity is engaged in a professional manner and that due process is followed for the benefit of the staff and the greater good of RMIT University.
